For those of you who don’t know, our family is building a new home! This is an exciting time for me because this home will be the last home that our children live in and remember as Home! My oldest daughter turns 17 this September, and that means I only have 2 more Christmas seasons left that she will really feel like a child to me, so I want to make these extra special!

Back to the original point of my post here.. I am not quite to the point where I can decorate. I have about one more month and I will be decorating up a storm! So for now I have been slowly collecting new decor. Things that I find on sale, things that I have refinished to make them like new to our family, and some of those special items that I always wanted, but couldn’t afford at the time. I will let you in on a little secret of mine though. I have been surprised to learn about the HUGE world of makers and home decor on Instagram and Etsy since I opened my shop in 2016. These hard working women (and I’ve even met a few men makers as well) make some of the most unique and beautiful items I have ever purchased! This community of makers is truly a hidden gem. I love Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Pier I Imports, and all of those similar stores. I for one don’t think that I could function without a Hobby Lobby (especially being a maker myself).. but I am so happy to know that I can look to Etsy and the Instagram maker community as well for Christmas gifts, birthday treats, and decor. Each purchase from a small shop makes some little maker do a happy dance! I know, because I do it each time that I sell a sign!

I am going to share with you one of the small items I recently received from a small shop on Etsy, that brings me great joy! This lovely bead garland (pictured above) is from Stacie at The Cottage On Maple. You can find her shop atΒ https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheCottageOnMaple. These beads and tags come in a variety of colors and customized tags. This is a great addition to any table or bottle and I love that you can make them so personal! “Faith” & “Family” seemed to be the perfect combination for me, because they are so important to me.

I hope you love them as much as I do! Now go give Stacie’s shop a little tour!

P.S. below is a sneak preview of our home in progress! But better pictures will arrive in late June!
